The Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) kicks off today in Los Angeles. The expo has been a platform for game and console developers to show off their new games and hardware. The first E3 took place in 1996 and has sky rocketed in popularity since then. The event is taking place June 10-13 and will include keynote presentations from Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo, and many more.

Intel’s Haswell

Intel has long been known for being the primary manufacturer of processors for MacBooks, Ultrabooks, and the new Surface Pro. The current chip architecture is called Ivy Bridge and has been in production since the third quarter of 2011. As of yesterday, however, Intel has officially released details about Ivy Bridges successor Haswell. The new chip architecture has been rumored for some time now and some technical specifications have been leaked over the last year. Intel has announced that Haswell will be available starting June 4th.

That’s right, bicycle sharing has found it’s way to the big apple. Known more for it’s aggressive and unforgiving drivers, New York will now play host to the biggest bike sharing program in the nation. It’s a simple concept with goals of alleviating traffic and giving people another option to move about the city. The name of the program is CitiBike, and it is a privately owned and ran by Alta Bicycle Share, Inc. The system’s name is derived from Citigroup, which spent $41 million to be the lead sponsor for the next five years.

The first shots have been fired, and the battle to become the best next-generation gaming console is underway. A few months back Sony announced that the PS4 will be arriving to retailers this Fall. Sony offered very little information about the new system and really only revealed that games are going to be digital downloads and showed off a questionable redesign of their controller. Fast forward to yesterday, Microsoft has officially announced the Xbox One as their next system. However, Microsoft has taken it a step further than Sony, offering more details about the systems capabilities and new features.
